Motion Picture Graphics
I’ve hacked the CIA, held the world to ransom, infiltrated military intelligence… I even made Tom Hanks look clever!
Faking It
In 1996 I headed up the teams that created all of the hero screens and onscreen graphics for the James Bond Motion Picture Goldeneye, the film marked the entrance of Pierce Brosnan as the new James Bond, and at the time was one of the most successful Bond movies made.
In Goldeneye, over 60 screens I’d created appeared in one shot… then they all exploded!!!I was set the task of creating all concepts and visual material throughout the six month production process, from early drafts & storyboards, through numerous re-writes right up to final scripts.
Since Goldeneye I’ve worked on numerous films, the most enjoyable was United 93, we created the Air Traffic Controller screens, which had to look and perform as realistic as possible, as they weren’t actors but real-life ATC’s ad-libbing to the screen read outs. One of the best compliments we’ve ever received was from one of them who said “This is fake? Wow it’s so realistic, I thought it was simulation software!”
